Explore the rhythmic art of stitched bookmaking with the Japanese Stab Binding Class. Making your own journal allows you to create the space for your thoughts, ideas and words. In this class you will use fine papers from around the world and the excellent quality materials to create a book that is truly your own.
What you will make: A 5-hole Japanese Stab Binding Book with a hinge-joint spine cover. Your 40 page journal will be the perfect place for daily journaling, meditations and jotting down ideas.
By the end of this class you will have completed a beautiful hand stitched book.
Class fee includes all materials we use to make a book: Binders-board, papers from around the world, bonefolder, awls, scissors, ruler, hemp thread and needle.
This class is also offered as a private or semiprivate two-ish hour class. No previous bookbinding experience necessary. To request a date & time, add this class to your cart, and then email firstname.lastname@example.org with your preferred date(s) and time of day.
In each class we will talk about the basic tools of book binding, glues and papers. I look forward to sharing my love of paper and bookmaking with you in this class! If you have any questions, feel free to call or email me:
